update – jan 7th

I have good news tonight. Kent is being released tomorrow to go home. The idea is for him to finish recovering at home, still on high doses of steroids and antibiotics, and monitored frequently in the dr’s office. Hopefully, he can rest easier and begin to gain more strength at home. I know that I can hardly wait to spoil him! It is hard to believe that 10 days ago he was walking around our little lake for 2 miles each day. Now the goal will be to walk around the house. We’ll take it one day at a time, and continue to thank God for you and your prayers.

A new story: A staff lady was working on Kent, and he gave her his “Holiday Letters” book. She mentioned that she wanted to write a book. When Kent asked her what she wanted to write about, she said that her 14 year old son was killed when a garbage truck backed over him! A few days later, her 20 year old son died! We decided that learning about another pereson’s tragedy can change your perspsective in a hurry. We are also grateful that God only lets us experience the things that He is gives us the grace to endure.

Rejoice with us tomorrow, and keep praying! Please! And thank you… Davidene

Count on prayers from Jim & Susan and Portland. Thanks for the new story. Listening is soothing for the story teller and can equip and encourage the listener. Praise the Lord for Kent being able to go home.
