kent’s health – update

Dear Friends,

It has been a long time since I posted a health update about Kent, but today is the perfect day to do it. The reason that today is so good? We have received encouraging news beyond our wildest expectations. Kent saw his pulmanologist yesterday, who confirmed that all of his doctors agree that his Relapsing Polychondritis is in remission at the present time. All I can think of is Ephesians 3:20, which says, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us.” Your prayers and the work of the Great Physician have produced the healing to give us this special time, and we are grateful to Him and for you.

Tests were run at Kent’s pulmanologist visit yesterday, and it was determined that he now has 34% lung capacity; that is up from 20% a year ago. He now is able to walk two miles a day around our little lake (a gorgeous walk), and has lost 30 pounds since summer. His steroid use is the lowest it has been, and his doctor took him off of two of his medications for now. He still has four breathing treatments a day, and has to be very careful to stay away from illness of any kind. He is still vulnerable, but is stable. He was reminded that this disease is not cured, just in remission for now. We know that all of our days are in the hands of God, and we are enjoying every day that He gives us. We are especially enjoying the freedom and productivity that Kent’s current health are affording us.

THANK YOU again for your prayers. Kent is a walking miracle because of them.

Love in Him,

Davidene (and Kent)

What a blessing to here this GREAT NEWS! I’m not surprised for two reasons….seeing how full of energy Kent was at Key Biscayne and knowing how faithful he is in his walk with the Lord. Our prayers and praises continue with all of you.
