Memoirs of Jack “Poppy” Humphreys
January 3, 2011 4 Comments
My father went to be with Jesus on December 30th. His memorial service is on Monday, January 3rd. Several years ago Davidene helped Poppy write his memoirs before too much of the Alzheimer’s took hold. We will have hard copies of the book at the service, but we might be low on numbers and the digital version is handy and hip!
We’ve created a website where you can easily download the .PDF file of “I Guess You Wonder Why I Called This Meeting… The Memoirs of Jack “Poppy” Humphreys” and share it with friends or put it on that fancy new iPad that you got for Christmas.
You will enjoy the stories, the “Poppyisms”, and his emphasizing what he has learned over many years of walking with Jesus.
Please visit Please visit www.JacksMemoir.info and follow the instructions. Even I can do it!
Your brother, Kent
I read the book and it was wonderful. I cried, laughed and remembered the times I got to be around him. Never a man I met with such a zeal for life and a love for the Lord. Praying for your celebration today.
We are grieving and rejoicing with the entire Humphreys family that Poppy is no longer with us but with the Lord! How awesome that must be! We will see you later today at the service.

Dear Kent and Davidene,
Praying for you and sending my heartfelt sympathy in the death of your Dad, but rejoice with you that he is in the very presence of our Lord rejoicing and praising our Savior!!!
I trust you will experience the Lord’s presence in new and wonderful ways this New Year of 2011.
In His love and faithfulness,
