dec. 15th – update

Kent and I have just arrived back home from a 2 week vacation in St. Thomas. KENT DID GREAT! We brought all of our medical equipment, including a travel nebulizer that we used on travel days. Everything worked beautifully. We tried a new idea – a mini-de-humidifier. We put it in our bedroom and kept it on all the time. When things got too humid, Kent could take a treatment in there and recuperate. He slept in that room, too, so he had several hours at a time when he had de-humidified air. The whole idea worked fine. We got very close to becoming so relaxed that I was wondering where the initiative would come from to pack and get home! We read, slept, ate, wiggled our toes in the sand, read some more, ate some more, etc. What a life! In addition to the delights of doing nothing, we had the company of two couples who are very dear friends to us. They came at separate times, and we enjoyed various activities with each that made our time special. Also in addition, I got to scuba dive for a week in gorgeous waters, seeing God’s various underwater creatures up close and personal. I made acquaintances with giant lobster, 3 nurse sharks, octopuses, manta rays, sea turtles, and a huge number of brightly colored fish of all sizes and descriptions. God was showing off when He created such beauty. He was also giving a display of His generous humor in His underwater realm. What a God we have! The colors of the fish and corals were rivaled only by His sunsets and sunrises on the pristine harbor water and beach. Another trip we will never forget. THANK YOU for protecting it with your faithful prayers.

We returned to Christmas decorations everywhere! I am SO ready to jump in and enjoy it to the fullest. We celebrate Christmas as a family this Saturday, and I can hardly wait. After leaving in a state of exhaustion, it is great to be returning in the opposite state of energy and refreshment. Wow, I’m grateful.

Love, Davidene
