September 24 (Johns Hopkins) Update

Just received a call from Davidene – after a full day of resting yesterday, a good night’s sleep last night, and a great appointment with Dr. Hellmann today, they are in the airport and headed home! And in Davidene’s own words, Kent “is a new person – he hasn’t sounded or looked this good in a long time”. I’m sure this is encouraging news to everyone!

Dr. Hellmann said that Kent is reacting very well to having the stents removed. He also commented that the stents did what they were intended to do while they were in, but being able to get rid of the complications associated with them (excess fluid, etc) will be a huge blessing to Kent’s lifestyle. And although he might need them in the future, right now,  his lungs and his body are getting a much needed break from them.

Thank you all, again, for the prayer and support you’ve shown Kent and Davidene on this trip and throughout the last few months, especially. Davidene will be blogging with more details and additional updates tomorrow after they have arrived home.
