sept. 16 – update

Kent has now been out of the hospital for 6 weeks – a record! He escaped going into the hospital twice in that time, and we attribute that to prayers and the new Vest Respiratory Unit that “thumps” him to help him cough. The dark side is that he is still getting infections about every 3 weeks, and he is on strong antibiotics for a week every time. That is too excessive for those antibiotics to keep working; he will get immune to them. We go back to Johns Hopkins next week to see both drs. there. We are glad to see them again. They are amazing at keeping up with Kent’s case; they have even phoned him at home multiple times. We are also praying hard for God’s wisdom as they decide about taking out the stents or leaving them in. It is a hard decision, and one that cannot be made until the dr. actually goes in to see for himself what everything looks like in the airways. That procedure is scheduled for next Wednesday. Our friend Bill Kennedy is traveling with us to help, and I am so grateful. Please help us in prayer for this trip. I will blog again as soon as I can. In the meantime, have a blessed weekend. We are praying for you both. I know this is such a difficult time for both of you. But God is in control of all things and He knows what is in store for you. I am praying that He will guide and direct your path and help the doctors to have the wisdom they need to provide the best care and treatment for Kent possible. We are also praying that the Divine Physician would also touch you, Kent, and miraculously heal you completely! Nothing is too big for our God!

  2. Art Kimbrough says:

Our praises go to God for every positive health experience Kent encounters. Our prayers go for the healing that needs to occur, and for the wisdom of the Doctors. We pray for your emotional and physical strength to be sustained throughout…and that goes for Kent too!!! Thanks for keeping us updated.
