sept. 10th – update

The past 10 days have been a good example of how life in general goes in the Humphreys’ household. Kent was doing really well, and we went to our lake house for the Labor Day weekend. We love Labor Day there, because it is one of the holidays during which the extended Humphreys family gathers. It takes three large houses to accomodate everyone, and we all roam between houses talking, eating, and playing games. This year our house became the main center of activity since that was easier on Kent. We have discovered that high humidity is a situation to be avoided. Kent has a very hard time breathing in high humidity, so we now have de-humidifiers in all the areas where he spends much time. Knowing this, the family kept Kent in climate control and brought the games, laughter, food, and companionship to our house. There was laughter for three days, and it was great.

The day after Labor Day, huge storms came in and the humidity was even greater than our units could handle. Kent became lots more congested, increasing more for the next two days. He started feeling sick all over, was coughing deeply with little result, and started to run a fever. Antibiotics and fever reducers were added to his medicines, and he responded fast and well. Once again, he stayed out of the hospital – always his goal. Tomorrow we will watch the OU game on TV and be back to a working daily schedule. A strange, but typical week for us. THANK YOU for your continued prayers. The support of God’s family, and the power unleashed by their prayers, are two primary things we depend on. In Him, Davidene

So glad to have an update. I think of you and Kent often and lift you to the Father. I saw my surgeon and oncologist this week. They both were amazed how well the healing has gone. They will schedule me for another PET scan in late November. I am so grateful that He is our provider and that His resources are beyond ours! I fretted over the medical bills last evening. Soon remembered that I need to pray before I attempt to look at the bills and match up the insurance paperwork.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Praising Him for continued health for Kent. May you know His abiding love and Presence this week.
    Susan
