june 25th – update

It is Friday morning, June 25th, and we have just returned from the hospital for another bronchoscopy. Kent did well; – for some reason (prayer) he tolerates these really well. The dr. found that the bottom two stents have secured themselves to their bronchial tubes well, but the top one is still loose. The body is supposed to make a granular substance that combines with the mesh covering of the stent and “secures” it. The dr. is theorizing that Kent is displacing this granular stuff with his hard coughing, and he is going to confer with the Johns Hopkins folks about it. Meanwhile, it is still working fine, even though it is loose.

Also, Kent has a pretty severe infection (thrush) in his throat, caused by some of the meds. So he will have to be off of a few of them for 2 weeks while it clears up. Pray that there will be no relapse of any kind during this time, and that the infection would not spread upwards into his mouth. That would be really miserable.

On a positive side, there was so little mucus to suction that the dr. doesn’t feel like Kent needs another bronchoscopy before our Lost Valley Trip. He is very impressed with how Kent has learned to get rid of the stuff.

We are happy that the test is over, and grateful for your prayers. As Kent said, “Now we can go on getting better from here!” By the way, he drove himself to his office for a few hours yesterday. Wow, was he ever happy with his day!

Have a happy day, Davidene

So glad to hear it went well. God is good. Mine went well also, after a bit of panic and tears. I was able to complete the first scan with the mask. The treatments will take twice as long and a bit more. i will start that on Monday.
May God continue to bring healing.

What is this that I read he drove into the office…..tough to stay away I guess…I suppose I get into trouble for doing the same thing, so I better not give him a rough time. It is great news though. 10,000 Blessings on you Kent. Trusting the next 2 weeks will be fine as you rest off some of the medds. JD

I did cherish the wish of a ‘Happy Day’ for it came from one who was happy of God’s goodness!
May He continue to keep Kent & You happy in His grace as He completes His work. May you continue to find joy and peace as you trust Him each step.
    God Bless.
