june 17th – update

We came home at 5:30 this evening! After about 5 hours of communication efforts between the dr., the hospital representative who was trying to help us navigate the system, the hospital pharmacy, an outpatient pharmacy, and our insurance company, we finally think we have an option in which we can successfully petition the insurance company to cover their part of the costs. They sent us home with one dose, and we ordered twenty doses, which we will get tomorrow. Kent will take them at the rate of two a day and see how that works. We are hopeful that he can begin to build  his stamina and increase his energy.

There is so much to learn – every single day.

As we drove up to our home, Kent chuckled and said, “Let’s try something new this week. Let’s stay at home for all seven days of it.” After thinking about it,  I realized that it has been over a month since we have been out of the hospital for more than 5 days. In some ways it seems like a long time, but we also know folks who have been in and out of hospitals for much longer than a month. Life is unpredictable at best. The one thing you can count on to be consistent is change. It is a wonderful thing that our God, who is in control, does not ever change.

THANK YOU for your part,
