june 13th – update

Dear Friends:  I should not have quit blogging daily. It made us all feel “safe” with improvement, when, actually, the battle rages on and needs our “praying without ceasing” just as much. Kent had been gainging fluid throughout his body ever since the last hospitalization. He has been trying to control the fluid in his lungs with breathing treatments and coughing. The fluid elsewhere has made his legs very swollen, and he has been wearing compression hose and taking medication to get rid of the fluid. By Saturday, he was starting to have real difficulty breathing again. Saturday night was scary, with him laboring to breathe. By Sunday morning we headed back to the hospital. He is in ICU again, while his doctors try to come up with a new plan for handling all this fluid. His pulmanologist here said, “This is a very rare disease, with rare complications. But we will figure it out.” With that in mind, pray for wisdom for the team of doctors, both in Okla City and in Baltimore, as they conference to understand what is going on and to develop a plan to combat the huge fluid build-up. THANKS for your faitihfulness in our behalf. I will blog tonight to let you know what happens. In HIm, Davidene

We appreciate the update on Kent and we continue to do as it says in Hebrews 4:16 – Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. This is a “time of need”. I guess you have done what it says in James, “is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord”. I remember several years ago my friend Jack had been diagnosed with T.B. Jack and his wife called on the elders from their church. They came and anointed Jack with oil and prayed. His wife who is a nurse stated that within hours she observed that Jack had improved and today he is TB free.

    Continuing in prayer,

    John and Nell

  9. Cheryl Weems says:

Davidene, you and Kent are not out of our thoughts and prayers for an instant. We love you both and pray that this situation consistently improves. I know that with any, and nearly all, serious medical situations, there are bumps in the road, side steps and even occasional back steps, but I beleive that Kent is inherently strong. He is a champion for God here on earth and God needs him here.
You are both a wonder to us and such an inspiration.
Love to you both, Cheryl and Bruce.

I was unable to sleep Saturday night/Sunday morning, Kent was heavy on my heart. I have trusted God to prompt me who to pray for when I awaken. Kent was who I was to pray for. I am continuing to pray even now. This morning you were again in my prayers. I will continue to be lifting you all up. God is amazing in providing what we need at the moment we need it.
    Love you guys

    Kent & Davidene,

Thank you for keeping us in the loop on Kent’s health and the family. We are experiencing the same ups and downs as you are as we celebrate the positive strides toward recovery and agonize any regression in Kent’s health. We continue to pray for Kent’s recovery and thank the Lord for His mercy.

    Be Blessed!
