may 4th, #2 update

FRIENDS: I have been made aware of how alarming this morning’s blog was about Kent and about visiting the cemetery. I am SO VERY SORRY that I left such a wrong and scary impression about the state of his health by saying that. I simply meant to say that our days are “topsy-turvy” – buying fun stuff one day, while “getting affairs in order” the next. I was not at all meaning that we would need to use such a purchase anytime soon. Kent’s health issue has caused us to make sure that our family, estate, business, and other issues are in order, but Kent intends to live an active busy life after the procedure, just as he has done and is even doing now. But I was making light when we are all taking everything very seriously, and I was wrong to do that in an emotionally charged atmosphere. Please forgive me. I have frightened and upset some of you, and I ask your forgiveness. I will continue to update, but Kent will certainly read it before it goes out to so many! I will be more responsible.

We have heard today from the rheumatologist at Johns Hopkins who will be joining the team. He is a vasculitis specialist within the dept. of rheumatology, is Chairman of the Dept. of Medicine, and is a Vice-Dean. AN impressively qualified fellow! His office is working with the pulmanologist to arrange dates, and his assistant was still hopeful that we would hear something by tomorrow. The pulmanologist’s assistant is out ill, so we’ll see if she is back tomorrow to finalize some of the plans.

We are very hopeful, and Kent is having good days. Again, accept my sincere apologies. Davidene

Thank you for your updating the post so frequently. No worries from this end about your cemetary comments as I took it as needed business to get taken care of in a manner the Humphreys would do. It is a good reminder for the rest of us mortals.

Know that we appreciate your posts and appreciative of the time you and Kent have had together. It sounds like the medical team is getting well prepared for their expectant successful surgery. That is our prayer as well. Know that you and Kent are loved.

  2. Praying for you Kent–please let us know if there’s any other way we can help.

It is good to know you have friends that care so deeply. You don’t need to apologize to anyone except maybe Kent :). We just care about you guys and we are all praying for your family, for Kent and for the medical team. We want Kent to be healed.
